The project objective was to promote shading coffee as a mitigation strategy to the effects of climate change affecting coffee production and productivity

Project Outcome

• 21 tree nurseries were established

• 21 field days were organized to train farmers providing shade for coffee as a mitigation strategy on effects of climate change and other aspects of good agricultural practices

• An average of 5,334 farmers were trained on coffee tree shade and good agricultural practices

• 36 farmers were taken on an exchange visit to Kirinyaga, Embu and Tharaka Nithi.
